The 7th International AEAL Conference will focus its attention on language research dealing with the BILINGUAL and MULTILINGUAL acquisition of languages, especially on studies involving a MINORIZED language. Plenary Speakers will be Laurie Tuller (Université François-Rabelais, France), Lourdes de León (CIESAS, Mexico), Nancy Hornberger (University of Pennsylvania, USA) and Bernard Schneuwly (Université de Genève, Switzerland). Moreover, Professor Jürgen Meisel (Universität Hamburg of Germany & Calgary University of Canada) will be payed tribute and appointed Honorary Member of AEAL.

AEAL 2013 is organized by the HIJE (Language Acquisition and Use) research group at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) together with the UNESCO Chair on World Language Heritage.

The Association for the Study of Language Acquisition AEAL (‘Asociación para el Estudio de la Adquisición del Lenguaje’) is oriented to the study of the acquisition and learning of languages by children and adolescents. Its triennial conference is a great occasion for meeting experts in language acquisition working in a varied set of areas such as grammar, lexicon, discourse, pragmatics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, sociolinguistics, language didactics and pedagogy.
